I found a couple of sales today in our local paper that were actually in my town and in a couple of adjoining towns. It started off as a beautiful, sunny day-birds were chirping-and it felt almost balmy. At the first sale, the garage door was closed when I pulled up, but it went up quickly and I walked right in. It was their first day, and they had maybe 20 things-all priced higher than what you could buy them for in the store...frog!
The second sale was at a local community center. It had about 15 sellers. One was a Tupperware dealer selling off her inventory for half price. I couldn't take my eyes off of this bowl-so it had to come home with me! Did you know Tupperware made such a BIG bowl? I didn't! It's about 1 1/2 times the size of the giant one I use all the time.
Then I got this cool wire basket from a couple of little older ladies-who watched me like a hawk while I was looking at their things. I think they though I might try to walk off with their fifty cent treasure!
After that I went to a moving/downsizing sale. It was really small. Once I bought these three things, there wasn't much left.
By the time I finished at the garage sales and picked up some groceries, it was freezing rain, windy and cold. At least it was spring-like for a little while, and there were a few sales...none of them princes, but only one frog.
How did you do this weekend? I'll be stopping by your blogs to see what you found! :)
So glad you got to go to some garage sales! Since I'm originally from the north, I hated waiting until spring!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you found some nice things! I'm so lovin' your tupperware bowl! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I'm so envious, garage sale season is at least 2 months off here in Chicago. :( I'm so tired of the icy winds and bad weather, I'm glad you found some food treasures!
ReplyDeleteNo yard sales for me today! Love what you found and now I'm encouraged to check out next weekend and hope!
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm answering your question here because you do not have an email reply. The green plates are made by Edwin Knowles and are in the Yorktown pattern. I just found out from one of my readers and added that info! Thank you for your comment! Linda
