We've been stopping at every yard sale that we've seen along the road. We've seen several signs for sales that were well off the road, and decided to skip them. We even went to a flea market in Blaney Park! My mom found a lady that weaves baskets and she ordered 8 custom baskets for her new kitchen island.
I found a canister set and a giant bag of kettle corn-freshly popped-YUM! I visited the antique shops there as well. One shop was holding a huge sale, because they were going out of business. Everything was 50% off. I was really excited to shop that sale...unfortunately, even at 50% off, the prices were higher than I've seen in any antique shop--ever!
Here is what I've picked up since I've been in the U.P.
A few of the things in the pictures are things my parents picked up at a sale on their way home from church. They used to be avid garage sale shoppers when I was little, but haven't been in a long time. Since I took them to a few sales last summer when I was at their house, my dad has been stopping whenever he sees them again. He got a super deal on a motor for his pontoon boat last fall. My mom bought 4 pictures this summer for her house-I have a feeling they may start shopping in driveways more often now! :)
That calories tablecloth matches some place mats I had listed on Etsy. They sold a couple of weeks ago. I thought they were so cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great assortment of treasures! I especially like the hankies (always on my must-have list). Have a happy 4th!
