I got a different hygienist this time. I enjoyed having someone who didn't talk non-stop like the one I usually see. I didn't realize how exhausting it was until I had someone quiet. When I finished and went to check out, the receptionist told me that my "husband" got taken back late and was still going to be a while.
I laughed and said, "I think you mean my son.", she was embarrassed, but laughed it off, and said she thought he was older because he is so tall. Poor kid. All his life he's been mistaken for being older because he's always been tall. I can remember when he was three and throwing a huge fit in a store, and seeing some ladies looking at him and me in a disapproving way and shaking their heads. When I said he was only three, but looks like he's eight, they didn't look like they believed me-oh well.
After our appointment, he
I ended up visiting Knightsbridge, The Town Peddler and Town & Country Antiques. It was so much fun! I blasted my car radio and sang at the top of my lungs, all the way there and back! I enjoyed every minute of my mini adventure!! I found some fun things that just had to come home with me too!!
Here are some of the things I saw:
Wouldn't it be fun to have some ice cold tea or lemonade in this pitcher and glass set?!?!
I really, really love old metal carts!
This set is just like mine, except it's more of an ivory color and mine is bright white. Look at the price! I got a super deal on mine-seventy five cents-and I got 4!! :)
I've been thinking about making a memory bottle. Have you ever made one??
$60 for the set?!?!?
So sad!!! I hate seeing vintage Pyrex that is dishwasher damaged!
This was fun to see! Only $40 and you could have a vintage McDonald's uniform.
Is he really worth that much???
This was kind of creepy to me...what do you think??
This guy made me jump about a foot when I walked around the corner and saw him-very creepy!!
Ohhh...what is that hiding behind the big horn?!?!? Too bad it was marked $40!!! I don't need it that badly! I actually found two of them in the same store, but both were priced about the same.
Look at this table!!! I fell in LOVE with it!!! It was wayyyy above my price range, and too low to the ground, but I still loved it!!
One of these days, I'd LOVE to find a lucite purse--in my price range--of course!
I see a spring time craft project coming together...
LOTS of barkcloth...what's a good price for barkcloth??
Look at this with old bingo cards mod podged on the inside!
Sweet little table and chairs!
This looks like the makings of a toddler bed!
I had to laugh out loud when I saw these. I had a pair just like them in the eighties!!!
I love mirrors!
These are what came home with me...
Finally finished this set!!! One more thing off my wish list and added to my inventory!
Now I just need a 402 and this set will be done! I have an extra 403, maybe I can trade for the 402.
I now have a set of 4, and I'm done. Some people don't like clowns, I just love the bright colors.
LOOOOOOOOOK!!!!!!! I found this IN THE WILD!!!! I have been whining for years that I need to get to Canada because I have never found this pattern in the U.S. only online and only from Canada. I found it in Michigan! Along with a tiny little yellow bowl-both for less than I was willing to spend on just the orange one-to replace the one I got a while back that was broken during delivery. I think this is the find of the year!!!
I'm so happy to add this whole, intact bowl to my set, but I'm having a hard time tossing the broken, glued up bowl away. Does that make me a hoarder??
I also found this set of melamine bowls with lids-brand new-not vintage-never used-still had original packing material inside. These I will use, but right now, they look fun on my buffet next to all of my other fun stuff!
I came across some barkcloth yesterday when I was cleaning out one of my old trunks. I picked it up at an estate sale a while back, but I don't sew! I was wondering the same thing about pricing it. I guess I'll be doing a little online research.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all of your pretty new things, especially those last bowls! It was defiantly your lucky day and your reward for going to the dentist :-)

I bought a couple of Pyrex mixing bowls at a garage sale last summer. I was super excited, because I thought one of them was the plain white one, until I got home and saw a thin line of green around the top of it. I guess it got washed in the dishwasher a few too many times. I still love my very mismatched set.
ReplyDeleteI love what you brought home and thanks for taking us through the shop with you. That is so much fun. Funny, but I have 2 of those Hazel Atlas clown glasses and am keeping an eye out for 2 more also. They are most definitely the "cute clowns", lol.
ReplyDeleteOh, I always get the chatty hygienist. No fun, especially when you can never answer or join in, lol.
Love all the things you came home with, except maybe the clowns...they look creepy to me with their yellow goat eyes!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't read the price on the spaghetti Santa, but that particular one is like the 'divided dish of Santas' -- it never seems to sell.
I am Oh-So-Envious of your flower set -- GREAT FIND!
