What did you do last week?

This was Friday, October 25, in Gaylord, Michigan-SNOW-and LOTS of it!!! We met my parents for brunch-they drove an hour and a half one way to meet us for only a couple of hours-how awesome is that!?!?

I am so not ready for this!

Looks like someone even plowed the parking lot!!!

Wonderful surprise at Hobby Lobby-they carry 12x12 sheets of glass!

Made my last ever stop at the Antique Depot in Lewiston. I thought I'd share some photos, so if you are ever in the area, you'll want to stop and check it out for yourself! I've loved this little shop over the years!

I bought this lovely vintage tablecloth, and the owner gave me $3 off my total! She asked me if I'd ever been in there before and I told her I had been coming for years-every time I visit my in-laws, but this was probably my last time since they were moving to Florida, and she gave me a discount!

I'll miss seeing this bridge. It's over County Road 489-it's for golf carts for the Garland Golf Course!

We got my in-laws all packed up, and everything fit! I really was doubting that it would all fit in the tiny trailer and truck, but it did. My FIL got a little bigger trailer than I thought he was getting, so we had no problem packing it all in.

Eric bought their mini van and is thrilled to have it! He's already gotten an oil change and repaired a few things that were broken on it.

Kevin and his brother-in-law left bright and early on Friday and got there, safe and sound around dinner time yesterday. After unloading, they had a fun day of surfing and nature trails today, and will be catching a 6 am flight home tomorrow.

This was the sunrise one day on my way to work!

Just a little further down the road...driving past a little country cemetery...I did a double-take, and had to back up! There was a horse in the cemetery! He looked old and tired and it looked like he was there a long time. No tracks in the frost on the ground and he had frost on his back and his head. I called the police, so someone could help him get back home.

The rest of my week was relatively normal...had some great games on Wednesday night. We won 3 out of 5, and played really hard to win those, and it felt good! Found out yesterday that the antibiotics and pain meds the doctors prescribed for my perforated eardrum tore up my stomach. I either have gastritis or an ulcer from it. Now I have new meds for that, and an appointment with an ear specialist on Tuesday, since my ear isn't back to normal yet.

I've been trying to catch up at home after being gone for so many weekends, it's a never ending juggling act trying to keep the booth running, the house clean and running, food in the refrigerator and on the table, work running smoothly, and showing up for and trying to play half-way decently with one ear throwing me off. This past week has been a blur, but I think I'm getting back into the routine of things!

How have you been? Thanks for the get well emails and comments-I really appreciate them!!! I'm going to be spending the rest of the evening catching up on all my favorite blog friends.

Have you started Christmas shopping yet? Do you bake cookies? What kinds do you bake?

  1. I'm wondering what happened to the horse. I hope it is okay and didn't go there to die.

I can't believe you had snow! We still didn't get some but I know it is only a matter of days....

  2. Hope your ear is better...doesn't sound fun at all. Now that everyone is moved, it's time for you to relax and enjoy the up coming holidays! Yes, I have started my Christmas shopping. I'm not sure what I'll be baking...
    Warmly,

  3. If you're looking for an easy and yummy candy, make Trisha Yearwood's crockpot candy. I made it for the first time last year and my husband has declared it his favorite. It's simple, pretty and delicious! Love your blog!!
