...

From Sevierville, we headed to Pigeon Forge, TN. I was really surprised to see how commercial that area is! What a tourist area! After driving up and down the "strip" area a couple times taking in all the shops and stores, we stopped and visited some of the touristy ones as well as a discount china store-where I got some great deals on some plum Fiesta!

Then it was off to Gatlinburg and the great Smokey Mountains! We stopped at a visitor center and got a lot of information on things to do and history of the area. We went to Ober Gatlinburg, an amusement park nestled in the mountains. You can visit their website and check them out (www.obergatlinburg.com). We rode the 120 passenger tram, then got on the chairlift and went even higher into the mountains. It was really pretty, and really high up there! As you are coming to the top, they take your picture and you can purchase it as a souvenir (of course, we got one!)
