Contemplating Cobwebs....

Ever since last Thursday's start to the new home search, I've been thinking a lot about what I'd like in my next home. I'd really love a walk-in pantry and a bigger master closet. The house we toured had a huge walk-in pantry and the master closet was about twice as big as mine. That's what I liked about that house...that and the fact it was immaculately clean!

Even the barn was clean. Maybe even cleaner than my house! There wasn't a spec of dust on the barn floor. No stains, no paint splotches from projects long ago that got out of hand, no cobwebs growing in the corner of the laundry room. Not one dust bunny to be found!

I've kind of let things slide the past few weeks. I've even heard one of my guys say, "why bother, it's just a rental now." I have dust bunnies multiplying like crazy, just waiting for my dust rag to wipe them away and I just found a couple more cobwebs in the corners of the sun room. That's my task for the rest of the afternoon-get back to normal-wipe away the dust and cobwebs, and enjoy my home for however long or short I have to live here.

We've been kind of in a waiting/limbo game and we've been walking around in a fog, not enjoying life, not enjoying much of anything the past few weeks. Well, that's gonna change TODAY! Bye, bye cobwebs, both real and those in my mind-I'm back among the living! I will enjoy life, my home, my family, my friends and loved ones, and the many, many blessings God has so graciously given to me.

In the big picture of things, this really isn't so bad. Yes, it's a pain, and a lot of work, and I don't want to move...but we're still healthy, we're all still alive, and we aren't walking away broke with no where to go (hopefully).

Thanks for hanging with me, and listening to me whine the past few weeks. Thanks for the encouraging comments and emails-especially for the ones that challenged me to straighten up and get my perspective back! I REALLY appreciate it!! Your kindness and friendship means a lot to me!

I just have to show you what I got today...I had to go to the booth to clean and bring in some more stuff-I had an amazing day yesterday and sold stuff like crazy so I had to bring in a car load to fill it back up (YAYY!). Since my guys were all gone from home, I had time to stroll around the mall and shop. I found two more honey whip jars-with lids, and one even has the original label on the front!!

They originally sold for 65 cents--including the honey whip!

I wonder if they ever made one in purple??!?!

Have a great week friends!

  1. I like your attitude. When I first read that you were being forced out of your house, I sort of had my own panic attack. I live in an area where we are one of three house on this side of the street and lots of farmland behind us. Just ripe for developers to come along and want to build something, so I always have it in the back of my mind that someone might someday want my house. It's got to throw you for a loop, but you have to get on with your life and hopefully you will find a house that you like even more and can stay in until YOU want to move.

    1. Hi Pam! Thanks for the kind words-I really appreciate them! It's time to get out of the fog and keep living, and stop waiting! I hope this never happens to you-I guess it's one of the downfalls of living in a country setting when everything around you is building up!
