What was I thinking???

I picked up a few things today at an estate sale...I bought these first.

They were $1 each!

Then I found this...

$2.

Then the owner who was running the sale brought over this...

She had it marked $10, and I asked if she would go any lower and she said, "How about $5?"

Now that I am at home, I am wondering "what was I thinking?" All of the pieces obviously need a LOT of work, and I hate "projects" when I already have a list of them a mile long. What was I thinking???

I guess when I saw that all 4 pieces were only $9 I got carried away. The owner said that the mirror actually goes to the two matching cabinets. It was originally a vanity table, but her son cut up the connecting board (grrr! Why?).

What would you have done? Would you have bought it too? Or would you have walked away? I am linking up to "Would You Buy it Wednesday" over at Junker Newbie. While you are there, check out all of the fun things other treasure seekers have found, and maybe even link up with your own find!

  2. I would have bought the little cabinets for $1 no doubt! They are adorable. For $9 you can't go wrong. Even if you gave them away.

  3. Will you try to reconnect the two little side tables and the mirror? How can someone cut up a piece like that??? And whatever for??

  4. Ha ha! Nellie the elephant comment made me laugh out loud! Good advice for sure! I guess I thought the same thing H.V.-but just what I didn't need-another project!

Esther, I do plan to try to recreate the original look of the vanity. Well, not me, but I plan for Kevin to recreate it! LOL! He's the woodworker in the family!

  5. Yes, I would definitely have bought all of that stuff for $9! It was a great deal and even if you never get around to redoing all of it, you're only out $9. I hate it when I go crazy at a sale and end up spending way more than I should have!
