To Sand or Not to Sand...?

In April I picked up this great gossip bench for a song. Someone had spent hours and hours faux painting it. It was even painted plaid inside the little cubbie and under the seat!

 I spent a good chunk of last weekend sanding it and painting it. I'm almost ready to put it back together and I'm trying to decide if I should leave it as it is, or if I should distress it a bit. Sorry, not the best picture.

So far, I'm leaning toward leave it as it is...what do you think???
